We collect the following categories of personal information:

• Contact information — your name, email, phone number, and (when you rent) your billing and pickup address.
• Booking information — vehicle of interest, rental dates, pickup location, insurance selection, and any notes you provide.
• Identity & eligibility documents — driver license (front and back), a selfie holding the license, and proof of insurance, collected only when required to complete a booking.
• Payment information — handled directly by our payment processor (Stripe). We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
• Technical & usage data — IP address, browser type and version, device identifiers, pages visited, referrer URL, and approximate location derived from your IP.

We process personal information to:

• Respond to quote requests and fulfill bookings.
• Verify identity, age, and driving eligibility before handing over a vehicle.
• Process payments, security deposits, and any damage or fuel charges authorized by the rental agreement.
• Send booking confirmations, pickup instructions, and service updates by email or SMS (SMS only when you opt in).
• Improve our website, prevent fraud, and maintain the security of our fleet.
• Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

We share personal information only when necessary, and never sell it. Recipients include:

• Service providers who help us operate the business — payment processing (Stripe), email and SMS notifications (SendGrid, Twilio), document storage (Vercel Blob), and analytics. Each is bound by contract to use your data only on our instructions.
• Insurance providers and law enforcement when required to resolve a claim, recover a vehicle, or comply with a lawful request.
• Successor entities in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of the business, subject to the same privacy commitments.

We do not sell your personal information.

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies to keep the site functional (e.g. remembering your preferences) and to measure traffic. Where applicable, we use analytics scripts to understand which pages are visited and how the site performs. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may limit certain features.

Our site does not currently respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals because there is no industry-standard interpretation of that signal. We honor opt-outs you make directly with the analytics or advertising providers we use.

We retain personal information only as long as needed to deliver the rental, comply with tax and accounting obligations, defend against legal claims, and prevent fraud. Booking and identity records are typically retained for the duration of the statute-of-limitations period applicable in our state of operation; quote requests that do not result in a booking are purged within twenty-four months unless you ask us to keep them.

We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Payments are processed over TLS and handled by Stripe, which is PCI-DSS compliant. No system is perfectly secure, however; transmission of information over the internet carries inherent risk.

Our site may link to external websites we do not operate. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those sites. Please review the privacy practices of any third party you visit through a link from our site.

Our services are intended for adults who can legally rent a vehicle (typically 21 or older). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact hello@lux-car-rentalz.local and we will delete it promptly.

We are based in the United States. If you contact us from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S. Where applicable law requires, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or other approved safeguards for those transfers.

Residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland have rights regarding their personal data, including the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, request portability, and file a complaint with a supervisory authority. California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request access or deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Lux Car Rentalz does not sell personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We will not deny you service or charge a different price for exercising these rights.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of the page for thirty days following the change.
